In den Los Angeles wurden in der Nacht zum Montag die diesjährigen Oscars verliehen. Großer Gewinner des Abends war dabei Oppenheimer, der insgesamt sieben Mal ausgezeichnet wurde. Zudem setzte sich der Film auch in fast allen der „großen" Kategorien wie bester Film, bester Regisseur, bester Hauptdarsteller, beste Kamera und beste Musik durch. Auf insgesamt vier Awards kam zudem der Film Poor Things, wo unter anderem Emma Stone für die beste weibliche Hauptrolle ausgezeichnet wurde.
